The Challenge:

How to organize a Program Office to facilitate the building of customized and integrated hardware to the needs of multiple telecomm providers. This meant defining an entire life cycle along with deliverables and roles and responsibilities. This had to be accomplished while the programs were already up and running.

TSI Approach:

TSI consultants came on board, interviewed key team members, defined the processes, checked to ensure accuracy, and then rolled out the process in a series of process mapping - Quad-Map. These maps served as the basis for all programs to follow in order to scale their programs efficiently. Controls were also put in place to monitor activities going forward. In addition, TSI went on to staff these positions in order to ensure compliance with the new process and provide feedback for improvements.

Final Solution:

Multiple programs were created following this model, most staffed with TSI employees. The Quad-Map process maps provide the foundation for all work flows and have been an excellent selling tool when showing customers Sun's process maturity. This solution is still being successfully executed with only minor changes since inception.

Client Results:

This particular unit in Sun has continued to have quarter over quarter growth and has been a catalyst within Sun itself to promote process maturity and ensure quality in its deliverables. Revenue has increased and customer satisfaction has improved. One of the program teams was voted vendor of the year by its telecom customer.
