Solutions Architect

Responsibilities:

• Analysis of customer deliverables and produce GAP report.
• Responsible for defining and translating customer business requirements for enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems into technical solutions and providing technical leadership to the implementation of these solutions.
• Responsible for the overall design and technical oversight of complex business initiatives in consulting engagements. This responsibility typically spans all layers of the business infrastructure; interfaces with the account customer and executive management to define requirements and recommend solutions.
• May provide consulting support on complex tasks and daily supervision and direction of staff. The Architect works closely with the Account Management Team. Participates in customer engagement planning and supporting sales efforts. Reviews and influences existing customer strategic goals.
• Collects and prioritizes customer requirements with the customer.
• Articulates alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist.
• Assists the Project Manager in the creation of technical project plans, and assists in assembling Sun teams for customer engagements.
• Performs Technical quality assurance audits.

Demonstrated Skills and Knowledge:

• Consultative skills.
• Ability to define and articulate customer value propositions for products, technologies or solutions within a specified technology or solution discipline.
• Deep and broad technical knowledge of Sun products and solutions and the overall IT environment.
• Knowledge of competitive environment and alternative technology solutions / approaches.
• Extensive technical knowledge within some specified solution domains (e.g., data center consolidation and virtualization, systems and network management, application architecture and development, etc).
• Applies expertise and knowledge of state-of-the-art software, hardware, network infrastructure, and/or information technology to architect, design, troubleshoot and lead solution for highly complex user/system problems.
• Industry domain experience (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Telco etc.).
• Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
• Ability to lead technical teams or work independently, as an integral team member or virtually, as required.
• 4-12+ years experience.
• Education: BS in CS, Engineering or Math or equivalent combination training and experience.
