TSI offers an onsite workshop for portfolio management which provides project teams with the tools needed for achieving successful outcomes. The initial instructor-facilitated workshop applies demonstrations, case studies and real world application to participant projects.

Improved coordination, communication and risk management to reduce unproductive time.

Consistent, repeatable approach

With a logical, documented methodology, successful projects can be repeated, and the skills for their attainment shared with those who need them.

Maintain focus on the end result

With clearly documented outcomes that are visible to the whole project team, everyone keeps on track to the end.

Action and results

With a systematic approach, project managers and team members will keep their projects on schedule and within budget.

Productive group action

When everyone speaks the same "language", the experience and energy of the group can be productively focused on important project issues.

With the help of a facilitator, eight process steps are covered using the following format:

Demonstration:

Participants see each process step applied to an example project.

Review and Discussion:

Participants clarify their understanding through questions, discussion and workbook review

Case Studies:

Participants work in teams to practice each step on a case study.

Real-world Application:

Participants apply each step to their own projects. Individual and team application consumes a major part of the workshop.

Outcome Definition:

To get everyone focused on the same outcome and project customer.

Identify Functions and Players:

To assure that all the right people are involved.

Identify Action Steps:

To assure that all actions are accounted for in the plan (includes Pert, Gantt, Milestones, etc.).

Managing Hand-offs:

To prevent key actions and deliverables from "falling through the cracks".

Measure Performance:

Against internal and external customer requirements.

Communication and Change Management:

To assure that people get needed information on time, and that change is managed effectively.

Manage Risks:

To see that project-threatening risks are prevented or managed effectively.

Human Performance Management:

How to set individuals and teams up for success rather than failure.

This process begins with a facilitated session: Participants provide the project team and a success critical project. TSI provides the skilled facilitator. Together, they will map out a plan to help assure successful implementation.

  • Project leaders
  • Managers and team members working on large and small projects in all areas including engineering, product development, information systems, health care, process improvement, human resources, manufacturing, etc. (can be offered to intact project teams or individual project managers and team members).
