Eric Norman recieving PMI Person of the Year Award from Philip Diab and Linda Vella "ATLANTA, GEORGIA, USA – Project Management Institute (PMI®), the world’s leading membership association for the project management profession, has awarded Eric S. Norman of Atlanta with the Linn Stuckenbruck Person of the Year Award. PMI’s Person the Year Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the profession as a leader in project management during the previous year.

Norman was recognized for his efforts and contributions to develop and advance the project management profession and to support PMI. During 2003 - 2006, he served as a volunteer PMI Project Manager leading the development of the Practice Standard for Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) – Second Edition. WBS provides a bridge between project estimation and planning, and it is used to substantiate that project management delivers business results. He also completed the Project Management Leadership Institute in 2006.

Norman has spent the past 25 plus years specializing in the process of project management. He has led projects and provided consulting for AT&T, Sprint, Delta Air Lines, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Norfolk Southern and CSX Railroads. He holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Program Management Professional (PgMPSM) credentials from PMI.

A native of Washington, D. C., Norman is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Business and Hartt College of Music. He is vice president and chief project officer for Atlanta-based ChoicePoint, Inc., where he is responsible for design, development and implementation of project and program management processes across ChoicePoint business units. He also owns Brighton Consulting."
